IBADAN, OYO STATE — The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially kicked off its nationwide consultations with high-profile courtesy visits to prominent Oyo State monarchs.

Led by the Director-General of the Campaign Council and former Zamfara State Governor, Abubakar Yari, the delegation visited the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at his Oke-Aremo palace, as well as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, to solicit traditional blessings ahead of the January 2027 polls.

Strategic Priority: DG Yari revealed that Ibadan was deliberately chosen as the council's very first port of call following its inauguration, highlighting the socio-political significance of the ancient city to the ruling party's national strategy.

Nationwide Royal Tour: Under direct mandate from President Tinubu, the campaign team plans to visit traditional rulers across all 36 states to anchor their grassroots drive on monarchical counsel and support.

Campaign Focus on Track Record: The APC strategy will revolve around showcasing economic reforms and major infrastructure achievements across all six geopolitical zones over the administration’s first three years.

Warm Reception from Traditional Rulers

Responding to the delegation, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, lauded President Tinubu’s administration for its contributions to economic growth and praised the campaign council for respecting traditional institutions.

Even if President Tinubu were to contest as an independent candidate, his performance and connection with the people would earn him support," Oba Ladoja stated, emphasizing the President's humility in seeking the electorate's mandate anew as a candidate.
